The neuropsychological assessment is based on scientifical methods to evaluate your cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Thus providing an individual cognitive profile based on specific areas in question (e.g. about memory, visual perception, attention, spelling, etc.) or existing diseases (e.g. brain tumor disease, traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, etc.) with specific neuropsychological assessment tools. In the case of children, a developmental assessment may also evaluate the current level of development.
In the course of the neuropsychological or developmental diagnostic process, the collected results are then evaluated and interpreted with regard to the respective age norm and the individual progress.
A detailed neuropsychological or developmental assessment of the various cognitive areas is provided to you in writing, and this written evaluation also serves as a necessary baseline for further individual progress.
As part of the neuropsychological treatment, these collected results may also serve as a basline for developing an individual neuropsychological training tailored to your specific needs.
A neuropsychological assessment thus provides a fundamental starting point for the best possible support and rehabilitation planning, as well for further necessary intervention (e.g. neuropsychologicial training). Both in the first assessment to create a baseline, as well as in the context of follow-up examinations, necessary starting points for optimizing participation in school/work and quality of life become visible.
